Veneers & Cosmetic BondingComposite and Porcelain VeneersPorcelain and Composite veneers are a very thin tooth-coloured facings used to cover the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance. Porcelain veneers are hand-modelled and tailored by experienced laboratory technicians to replicate the natural tooth in shape, colour and texture. Dr. Ian Malkinson uses only the best laboratories to fabricate our porcelain work and the technicians are closely involved in the entire process of making your new smile. Veneers are excellent for treating teeth that are misaligned or misshapen, discoloured, heavily chipped or broken or just to give you that perfect smile you always wanted. Preparation of your tooth or teeth is carried out to achieve an optimal shape to the tooth in preparation for the tooth to receive the veneer; impressions are then taken of your mouth to enable the technician to fabricate the veneers. Provisional veneers are made to protect your teeth whilst the porcelain veneers are being made and to help us determine the shape and size of the final teeth. We will often arrange a visit at the laboratory so the technician may see your teeth and match precisely the colour of the veneers. Veneers were created and fitted to cover the existing sound, but stained and slightly uneven top teeth.
